Jacobs Ladder, DerbyshirePosted by Richard Irwin (Belper, United Kingdom) on 21 March 2007 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio. This was a day I got soaked, climbing up Jacobs Ladder to Kinder Scout, the highest peak in Derbyshire. It was up here that in 1932, people fought with landowners for a right to roam in wild places in England. I'm glad they did, for it is a beautiful, wild, and sometimes dangerous place to wander in, especially in winter.
