I went on a visit to Hermits Cave today, which is near Birchover in Derbyshire.
This cave has a remarkable carving, which was carved in the 13th century according to historians.
The carving shows a crucified Jesus, but the cross is a tree, which harks back to earlier pagan symbols.
Sitting by the cave, up above the valley, it feels a lonely but inspirational place. On the hillside above the cave are 5000 year old stone circles and even older burial chambers.
Just enough daylight enters the cave to get a handheld exposure.

Very cool. Ok, so you'd like to get a shot of a moose; and me, I'd like to get a shot of some of the glories that are England. Trade places.?.. the grass is always greener, eh? ;-)

more than the subject itself, the light (for the texture and atmosphere) is the maximum ... beautiful work

A big thankyou to everyone that left comments. In answer to Rahul, the shot is naturally lit, there was just enough daylight entering the cave.
