Pistyll Rhaeadr

Posted by Richard_Irwin (Belper, United Kingdom) on 3 April 2007 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

This is Pistyll Rhaeadr, the highest waterfall in Wales. It thunders and plunges for 240 feet off the side of the mountain. Underneath it, the noise is tremendous.

People have noticed ghostly figures silhouetted in the falls, there are old photos of monks and dragons, and a lady of the falls. I didn't notice any on my visit, but I did get inspired, and a little bit soaked by the water splashing off the rocks.
