Rock Stack, Dovedale

Posted by Richard_Irwin (Belper, United Kingdom) on 25 April 2007 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

Dovedale is a wierd and magical place, like an unearthly setting out of a Tolkein story.
It is a deep limestone gorge that runs for several miles between towering rocks and cliffs and dark forested slopes.

Years ago I camped wild there with a mate of mine, and all night we witnessed strange occurances that to this day I cannot explain.

I took this shot of one of the tall rock stacks some weeks back.
