That is a cool shot, but I'll admit that I expected something a little more 'peaky' from the title. I guess that between living in the shadow of the Rocky Mountains and the Southern Japan Alps I've become a tad spoiled! Good picture though!

@travelingrant: Thanks for your comment. Just to clarify my title, the word comes from the regional name of this district of England. Running up the spine of England we have a ridge of hills which are called the Pennines. At the southern end are two very distinct areas (geologically speaking), called 'The white Peak' (because it is dominated by limestone), and 'The Dark Peak', because it is dominated by Millstone grit, which gives it a darker, foboding atmosphere (as seen in my image). These are not mountainous regions in the sense of The rockies, the alps etc, but are fairly extensive uplands, at around 600mtrs asl. If you type 'The peak District' into any search engine, you'll see loads of info on this famous region.
It's so barren... it's hard to envision such a landscape from a country where it's known for it's rain. Like the contrast of browns to the blue of the sky. ;-)
