Bell Roe from Ely, United StatesA great shot. It's neat how the rock almost looks lighter than the irony clouds. 24 Jul 2007 5:24am hrg from tehran, Iranastonishing , where does this rock come from? it dosend seem a rocky montain isnt it strang to see this rock here? it look like sombody put it there 24 Jul 2007 6:33am @hrg: The mountains here were scraped and formed by glaciers in the Ice Age, and then by wind and rain over thousands of years. These boulders or 'Tors' as they are known, are much harder than the surrounding surface as it wears down, so they get left on top, and form amazing shapes. I'll be posting some more views in the week. Sriram from Chennai, IndiaWow.... Nice shot and a superb framing! Shadows add the feel to it! Good work, Richard! 24 Jul 2007 7:11am Jason Kravitz from Brussels, BelgiumA monumental subject that you've captured well. I'd love to see a B&W version of this one. Lots of good texture and shadow in the land and clouds. 24 Jul 2007 12:20pm MaryB from Staffordshire, United KingdomBrilliant! 24 Jul 2007 1:33pm amy from Rocky Mountain House, CanadaJust an amazing phenomenom!! I wonder how long it will stay balanced. Lovely imagery. You seem to have given this image a great deal of thought before you took pictures of it. 24 Jul 2007 10:24pm Daroru from Amagasaki, JapanWonderful Richard. Heaviness off the shadows adds to the dramatic effect. 27 Jul 2007 12:12am Lost Valley from Kamloops, CanadaThe shadows you have captured under the rock is fantastic!! 9 Aug 2007 10:07pm |
