Ohhh what fantastic color and a sense of mystery! Outstanding lighting and picture. I like the way the candle light is situated.

Lovely, with a touch of the sinister (maybe the subdued colors and lighting set a kind of foreboding mood?). Reminds me of an old Indiana Jones movie shot in India.

Terrific image find...

A striking image, Richard. Must say it calls to mind many of such shrines that I witnessed during my travels in South India (Chennai - formerly Madras - and surrounding villages) some 10 years ago.
What also struck me (and for some poignant reason, what this image also reminds me of, though this one seems to emanate from a richer part of the country) was the immense poverty and desolation affecting so many in those parts - at least back then, but it seems to me that even now with the rapid economic advancement in the country, many of the poorest (as seems also to be the case in China, albeit for possibly different reasons) are "left behind". Hopefully this will not always be the case.

It is a sombre yet elevating image Richard. It's a story of people's faith... subtley evocative. Well done!

A very gorgous photo Richard full of symbols, poverty and hopes.

The blue in the image gives the picture a mellow mood. This helps in stressing the religiousness (is this even a word?) of the image.
