Rags from Plano, United Statesthis middle road seems to separate the stormy water (in the left) from the still water in the right. Great pic 18 Oct 2007 5:11am ColNed Pictures from Amersfoort, NetherlandsNice shot, love the contrast between the colors. 18 Oct 2007 7:15am Manuela Photography from Hainburg, GermanyLove the contrast between laft and right (as Rags already mentioned). Great colours. 18 Oct 2007 7:26am Lorraine from Gatineau, CanadaOh Richard, very, very impressive, Perfect composition and balance 18 Oct 2007 8:43am Craiger from Vacaville, California, United StatesExcellent! That blue sky really pops the rest of the image! 18 Oct 2007 12:03pm @Craiger: I always carry my Cokin filters, and here is why, as the grad blue brings out the sky and helps equalise the exposure in the highlights DaveB from Exeter, United KingdomWow, cool. Did you use an ND Filter for this one? 18 Oct 2007 12:43pm @DaveB: Not an ND in this shot, but I used a graduated blue over the lens which has a similar effect. Brian from United StatesThis Whitby series is quite magical! Thank you so much for posting it. 18 Oct 2007 4:58pm Amir from IranBeautiful as always. I specially like the water coming ashore from the left side of the image 18 Oct 2007 6:57pm amy from Rocky Mountain House, AB, CanadaI love how the wide angle so works at the bottom of this image... great depth!! Great shot!!... as always ;-) 18 Oct 2007 7:17pm Rebecca from Leicester, United KingdomWow, totally masterly once again, Richard! Must agree with Rags here, wonderful sense of a dividing section between the stormy water on the left and the still on the right. Fabulous sighting and composition!! Every piece in this series has been nothing less than superb. Have really enjoyed it! 19 Oct 2007 1:35am Stunner from Kingston, JamaicaWow! Breathtaking scene and the perspective is fabulous! Great shot Richard! 19 Oct 2007 3:24am Twelvebit from Victoria, United StatesThere's some kind of connection with Whitby on my mind but I can't place it. It's interesting that you use actual on camera filters. 19 Oct 2007 3:13pm @Twelvebit: Although I use Photoshop to finish images, to me the PP is the darkroom, and so I like to control as much as I can when taking the image, and filters are a great asset always. Just a simple warm up, grad grey or blue or ND can make such a difference. |
