Pendle Hill from Clitheroe CastlePosted by Richard Irwin (Belper, United Kingdom) on 28 October 2007 in Landscape & Rural. Its been miserable dull weather this weekend, and I'm not too happy with my photo results, but earlier this week we had one super bright day, and I was in Clitheroe in Lancashire, which has a fantastic view of Pendle Hill. The area is notorious because it was the location for the Pendle Wiches, who were hanged in 1612 for the crime of witchcraft Here is an interesting link, detailing the history of the Pendle Witches
