Around 2000 tonnes of wooden planks are drifting about in the English Channel. Hundreds of tonnes have washed up on the beaches near Worthing. This shot was taken last week between Brighton & Hove.
It all came off a ship called The ice prince, which sank in heavy seas around 14th January

Nice composition with an interesting story. That looks like really good lumber for building. I wonder if the wood poses a hazard for small boats.

Beautiful! The wood piled up on top of each other make a very interesting construct.

I like the arrangement as well. Did it end up that way or was it set up?

Thankfully it was wood and not oil, I like the way the sea ( I presume it was the sea and not people who had been sorting through it) has arranged the planks of wood. A great shot Richard.

Just a brief stop-by to say hi, thank you so much again for your very kind words at my blog the other day, Richard, and WOW, really an absolutely fabulous capture and composition yet again. The variation of textures and tones, from stones to wood to sea, then sky, really draws the eye. And I really appreciate your narrative too. Truly WOW yet again.

lovely image. I really find it sad when ships sink. What will they do with the wood now that it is on the beach?
