I found this little Treefrog in a banana plant in broad daylight, and it wasn't very good at hiding itself. You normally locate them at night by their chirping, but this one wasn't bothered by being disturbed, it just posed itself for the camera.
This, and the following shots are all images of wild amphibians and reptiles in their native habitats.

@Daniel: Ha ha, maybe he had eaten so many insects all night, he was too heavy to move by daylight...LOL
very nice shot. good focus . . .

@Saeed: Thankyou. He wasn't going to budge off his perch, so I had plenty of time to focus.
Great shot! :) I look forward to seeing more animals.

Wow - this a great shot Richard. It is crisp, the colors are vivid and the shadows are just lined up perfectly. And of course it helps when the little guy cooperates so nicely.

He is gorgeous, what a wonderful blend of tones, shapes and natural elements, lovely catch Richard :)

@Lorraine: He was the easiest frog to photograph, as he was too lazy to move. I usually find most frogs to be very uncooperative as soon as my camera appears. LOL.
oh he is so cute... what a great capture...beautiful colors and lighting

@amy: Cheers Amy. Frogs are cool characters, but not easy to photograph I have found. I think I was lucky with this critter.
great macro Richard - nice colors

Just fantastic Richard!!...(at the risk of sounding like a camera club judge)..did you use the PS highlight burn tool on the upper section of the shot?.. I might have done the same on the highlight just below the beautiful handsome prince.....great pic.

@CATCHLIGHT: Thanks Mike. I was lazy in my editing in that I used the spot lighting filter in Photoshop to subtly bring the focus of attention to the tree frog, and dim the edges. I usually use a bit of dodge and burn here and there, and take my time, and in this case the spotlight has burned out the highlights below the frog a little, but I'm living with it. If I print the shot, I would re-do it, and spend more than the few minutes I did the first time round.
great shot! very good focus. :) he's one cool treefrog!
