Scary HandsPosted by Richard Irwin (Belper, United Kingdom) on 28 May 2008 in Abstract & Conceptual. I'm away on my boat, and will have little opportunity to visit AM3. All the following weeks images have been pre-posted, and are a bunch of random shots from various times and places. This shot is from Sherwood Forest, Nottinghamshire

@Anthony Lambert: Ha ha, I think he was supposed to have hid in an Oak just like this one. I think this ancient oak would have been around when he was, but the hands belong to a mate of mine. Ronnie 2¢ from London, United KingdomThis is an excellent idea and super-effective! I have a tree just like this I walk by every day and will always think of these hands, now! 28 May 2008 9:30am Ron from Saint Louis, United StatesTerrific image, Richard ... beautiful deep, rich tones! 28 May 2008 9:39am annora from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysiawoah those are really scary hands!a great idea.well composed as well. 28 May 2008 1:28pm Betty from New Jersey, United StatesExcellent title and photograph! Very well done. 28 May 2008 1:33pm Persian King from Tehran, IranBeautiful, yet creepy, how did you do this? Let me guess! mirrored in Photoshop? 28 May 2008 7:20pm @Persian King: Its just one photo on 35mm film, with very little PP. The model was my friend Steve, who has very long fingers. The tree is an ancient oak in Sherwood Forest (famous for Robin Hood), and was probably split by a bolt of lightning, or maybe the middle just gave way, leaving a huge space inside. Steve squeezed into the tree, and I directed him to stick his hands out like that. All I did in Photoshop was to increase the contrast, and sharpen the result. pierre from athis mons, FranceA great compo !
