Hanging CloudsPosted by Richard Irwin (Belper, United Kingdom) on 20 August 2008 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio. Low cloud clinging to the slopes of Mount Snowdon. The little lake is called Llyn Du'r Arddu in Welsh. Legend has it that a beautiful fairy emerged here from the underworld. She fell in love with a local man and they agreed to marry, but the ancient tale then recounts that she should never touch any metal three times, or he would lose her to the lake forever. As she climbed upon her lovers horse, the metal bridle touched her three times, and mysterious fairy forces pulled her back into the dark waters of the lake, never to be seen again.
