Me (embarrassing photo exhibit 1)Posted by Richard Irwin (Belper, United Kingdom) on 29 October 2008 in Miscellaneous. Photo of me taken around July 1988. I am resplendent with an awful beard (first and only beard I ever had I must add), whilst climbing along the Batura Glacier in Northern Pakistan.

Lorraine from Gatineau, CanadaNothing embarrassing about this photo, it's smashing, you look very handsome, nice to know that some people never get old...I know I do, gee I didn't know you could post '88 photos, I looked really good then ;) 29 Oct 2008 6:25am @Lorraine: Thanks. I cheated for sure - its amazing what 20 years has done. I avoid being photographed nowadays. Anthony Lambert from GermanyThe look fits the place I have to say. When in Rome and all that !! 29 Oct 2008 8:08am Calusarus from St Sorlin en Valloire, FranceA nice portrait. Hello from 'down under'... lovely to meet you Richard :o)! 29 Oct 2008 9:28am Observing from West Cheshire, United KingdomI feel that you've pulled a fast one Richard.... I understood it had to be recent ! Seeing as I was a bronzed body builder back then I could have posted that one. 29 Oct 2008 9:31am @Observing: Ha ha...well I'm never one to stick to rules, LOL....but 20 years ago still seems recent to me somehow. MJ from Delaware, United Statesnice to meet you in such a beautiful place ... the clouds and sky are incredible..... 29 Oct 2008 11:32am Earnest from Oklahoma, United StatesYou look like the quintessential outdoorsman, Richard... Not nearly as bad as one I have of myself (1970's) in the Rockies with flared trousers, flowered shirt, and rather odd looking long hair... posing on a rock like Daniel Boone... Thank goodness I can't find that one in my collection anymore... 29 Oct 2008 12:46pm @Earnest: Aw, such a shame, although I must say, my long hair and flowered shirt pics have also mysteriously vanished... Vincent Lam from Shanghai, ChinaGreat landscape with self-portrait! Nice to meet you Richard! 29 Oct 2008 1:45pm baobab from Cambridge, United Stateswhat a beautiful place - and hopefully the beard helped you to keep warm :-) nice portrait. 29 Oct 2008 2:48pm Daryl from Amagasaki, JapanFirst and only beard? So how long is it now...? Love your choice of background! 29 Oct 2008 3:28pm @Daryl: I used to have very long dreadlocks, but after cutting them off, I kept them (in the loft) for some mysterious sentimental reason. Years later (having forgotten all about them) I got a terrible fright in the dark loft, as I came face to face with what looked like a horrific furry creature crouched in the corner of the loft. I had to ask friends round to help me get of this thing. They were as terrified as me. After much alcohol (to calm our nerves) we discovered the creature was the remains of these dreadlocks. I suppose the beard I cut off may still be growing somewhere and might be scaring someone as I write this !! Rui from Leiria, PortugalNice to meet you Richard! And why embarassing? 29 Oct 2008 3:48pm Ras from Plano, United Statesnice shot of you and beauty all around you.
