Malaga (2 of 4)Posted by Richard Irwin (Belper, United Kingdom) on 26 November 2008 in People & Portrait. Penitentes at the Holy Week festival, Easter, Malaga, Spain image scan from 4X3 print, so sorry about the poor quality; this print is not so good unfortunately.

bm from Budapest, Hungaryvery interesting subject, good that they haven't chosen white as their preferred color for this outfit... :) 26 Nov 2008 11:10am @bm: Some wear blue, some brown, some red, some white and red etc: the costumes have a very long tradition, and pre-date by centuries any modern connotations. They are followed by enormous crowds of people. It takes place across Spain, but this set was photographed in Malaga.
