Remnants (6)

The last one of these. This rock appears to be a carved seat, maybe it was for the neolithic chiefs who inhabited this place 5000 years ago.

This final shot I'm posting was taken with my medium format Mamiya 645 camera with Ilford HP5. The other were taken with a Canon G7. I'm starting to find myself drawn back to my film cameras more and more recently.

The whole place has a mystical look about it. The film image is excellent, however, the digital shots are very close to it proving how good digital is, perhaps the difference can be seen in print.

@Observing: The difference is less obvious at the size I post on AM3 (800X600). The original negatives I scan at a fairly low setting (2800 dpi) which gives a 6000 X 4500 pixel image, which is so full of detail, I swear I would be able to count the legs on an ant on top of that foreground rock if there was one there. Also, the film (this was HP5) has the most impressive range of tones, way above anything I can pull from my digital kit.

@Craig: I used to develop my own, but now just drop them out to a film process service.
I just get process only, and then scan them at home on an Epson F3200 film scanner.
