Bodger Badger (first attempt)

I discovered a Badger Set just a couple of minutes walk from my house a couple of day back (I have been here since 1997, and never realized it was there). Anyway, last night was my first attempt at capturing these particular nocturnal beasts, so not a very good shot as yet, as I have to learn where the badgers exit the set, what times, which direction, and then position myself to the best advantage to get a good shot. I'll try again in about a weeks time, as I do not want to disturb them again for a while, but if it works out and I get the shot I'm after, this will be the first place I'll show it.

@ordinaryimages: Yes, there pretty much the same, with different facial markings but similar habits. The trick is not to corner them, as they will defend themselves if provoked. If you sit still, you can get quite close, as long as the wind is in your favour, not theirs, as one sniff of human, and they will stay in the set.

@Daryl Johnson: I'm using a Nikon SB800 flash head, which has a huge range, but I need to be up the path from the set and not where I took this shot from.

This already looks very promising and good luck with this project. Such secretive animals but with fixed habits so you should be able to make a real 'catch', I think. Hope it goes well.
