Fallow Deer

Posted by
Richard Irwin (Belper, United Kingdom) on 12 April 2007 in Animal & Insect and Portfolio.

Taken on slide film which I still occasionally use, despite being mostly digital nowadays.

This was a lucky encounter one early morning with a herd of Fallow Deer. These beautiful timid creatures live in old woodlands, and are hard to spot. I was up before dawn broke to find them, and was lucky to catch them in the golden light of the newly risen sun.
