Man Orchid

Posted by
Richard Irwin (Belper, United Kingdom) on 22 June 2008 in Plant & Nature.

A bit of a rarity in England, this orchid is hard to find. This shot was taken at Tottenhoe Knolls in Bedfordshire. There were quarries here in medieval time, which over the centuries created the rich flower and butterfly habitat that is the site today. I have counted 9 separate orchid species here.

This image was taken on 35mm Fuji slide film.
