Giants Hole Cave

I have been AWOL for a few days......and this is what I have been doing.

We took a group of students caving in Derbyshire, and I took this image as we were ascending 'Garlands Pot' in Giants Hole Cavern. Here we were ascending the waterfall by going up through the water, climbing about 25 feet of wire ladder. This was after around 6.5 hours exploring the cave, so everyone was wet and cold, and having squeezed through parts of the cave with names like 'Crabwalk' and 'giants windpipe'

....It was knackering.

It does look wet and uncomfortable - those poor bare hands! looks as though your camera got wet too.

@baobab: Luckily its a submergible camera, so no problems in the wet cave.

@dj.tigersprout: It was an long cold wait, as I had to wait till last. Getting soaked under a freezing cold waterfall for half an hour helping everyone else climb up took its toll....I was very glad when it was my turn to climb up.

Not only a tough climb, but a difficult shot I would imagine, all that water falling. Sounds a great experience though..!
