A close up following yesterday's shot. I used a new 'all singing, all dancing' zoom lens that arrived in the post a couple of weeks back (it goes 43mm - 465mm on a digital SLR camera) for these last two shots; its not the best lens by any stretch of the imagination, but having that range in one lens is rather novel for me, as I normally use a 35-70, or stick to primes.

The macro close up of the Snowdrop that I posted a couple of days back was taken with an absolutely superb 50mm prime macro lens.

This is a wonderful series of shots. The lens sounds interesting for a guy like me with not a lot of money to invest in his hobby.

28-300 in 35mm talk? That must have set you back some. I use my Nikon VR 75-300 (115-450mm) quite a bit, but would love to have that bottom range available too. On the other hand, I find when I use a prime lens that one more variable is taken out of the compositional decision and I think that might actually lead to better compositions.
