At the Brink of Extinction

I believe these are Wild Asses, probably Onager, which I photographed in Baluchistan (Makran area) in Pakistan in January 1988. By all accounts, they are supposed to be rare in this region now, with just a few sighting in any year. Unfortunately, this was as close as I got, as they ran away as I tried to get closer.
